All are invited to come at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening for the annual Carnivale musical celebration.
St. James Roman Catholic Church in Charles Town is keeping the festivities this year with music, theater, and a lavish spread of desserts. The Chamber Singers from Shepherd University directed by Dr. Erik Jones will be joining St. James’ Cappella Magna under the direction of Gary Penkala to present a broad range of choral works encompassing Gregorian Chant to American Spirituals. The highlight of the evening will be Missa O Magnum Mysterium by Tomas Luis de Victoria. Also performing will be instrumentalists, the bell choir, and the children’s choirs of St. James Church.
A reception in the Social Hall afterwards will include a spread of desserts and a theatrical review of the musical Little Women by the Good Shepherd Drama Group. This event is free and open to the public.
