Marshall announces football signees

Marshall signed 12 football players from Florida it was announced on Feb. 1 from Huntington. Head coach Doc Holliday revealed a list that included wide receiver Chris Alston (Winnsboro, South Carolina); Eric Ansley (lineman from Riverdale, Georgia); Steward Butler (running back from Lakeland, Florida); Matt Cincetta (long snapper); Tyler Combs (offensive lineman from Louisa, Kentucky); Cameron Dees (offensive lineman from Seffner, Florida); and Steve Dillon (defensive lineman from Palmdale, California).

Other signees were Marcus Gilchrist (defensive lineman from Port Charlotte, Florida); Stefone Grace (linebacker from Cincinnati, Ohio); Kevin Grooms (running back from Hollywood, Florida); Chris Hall (tight end from Fork Union, Virginia); Deyonte Henderson (linebacker from Orlando, Florida); Gunnar Holcombe (quarterback from Fort Lauderdale, Florida); and Devon Johnson (safety from Richlands, Virginia).

Continuing on the list of Thundering Herd signees were A.J. Leggett (cornerback from Miami, Florida); Joe Massaquoi (lineman from Alexandria, Virginia); Josh Muriel (lineman from Port St. Lucie, Florida); DeAndre Reaves (wide receiver from Sterling, Virginia); Rakim Reed (tight end from Fork Union, Virginia); Ryan Reidel (linebacker from Cabell Midland High); Billy Rone (lineman from Glendale, Arizona Community College); Shawn Samuels (safety from Bainbridge, Georgia); and Andre Scott (safety from Orlando, Florida).

The last of the recent signees were Gary Thompson (linebacker from La Mesa, California); Corey Tindal (defensive back from Lauderdale Lakes, Florida); Kent Turene (linebacker from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida); Clint Van Horn (offensive lineman from Beckley Woodrow Wilson High); Deontae West (cornerback from Hollywood, Florida); Gage Niemeyer (offensive lineman from San Jacinto, California); and Ken Smith (defensive lineman from Copperas Cove, Texas.
