Local students participate in All-state chorus

Students from Charles Town Middle School, Harpers Ferry Middle School, Wildwood Middle School and Washington High School were selected to participate in the WV American Choral Directors Association’s Jr. High/Middle School All-State Chorus.

Over 200 students from across West Virginia gathered in Charleston on February 2 − 4 under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Kenney Potter, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities from Wingate University in North Carolina.

The following students and teachers from Jefferson County participated:

Harpers Ferry Middle School: Shenan Sokel, Jacob Givens, James Bentley

Charles Town Middle School: Mary DeWees, Timothy Matheson, Nigel McGee, Haley O’Meara

Wildwood Middle School: Kylee Adessa, Amanda Mohr, Walter Tomlin, Austin Washington

Washington High School: Elizabeth Buscher, Zach Little, Amanda Tamplen

Music teachers: Ms. Meghan Broderick, Mr. Ken Cooper, Ms. Angie Flook, and Mrs. Connie Robeson prepared the singers.

Parent chaperone: Mrs. Anna Sokel.
