The entrance fee for Harpers Ferry National Park has been increased, according to a press release from Superintendent Rebecca Harriett.
The new fees will be $10 for noncommercial vehicles, and $5 for pedestrians and bicycles. The price of an annual pass will increase from $25 to $30. Interagency Annual, Senior, Access, Golden Age and Golden Access Passes will continue to be accepted.
The last entrance fee increase was in 2004.
All monies collected by the park go toward repair, restoration, stabilization and maintenance of park resources, according to Harriett. The 2012 increase will go toward transportation infrastructure.
