Gayle to give performance at Jefferson High

 

Shenandoah Junction — Heather Gayle, Jefferson High School senior debuts her new performance for 7th grade students from Wildwood Middle on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 9:15 a.m. at Jefferson High School. Gayle, also known as “1 Love” wrote, produces and directs the show which is designed to bring a message of tolerance and anti-bullying to teens as well as adults. Gayle’s troupe includes Jefferson High School students who will act, dance and sing in a high energy performance.

According to Gayle, “I like to focus on music with a message and make sure that we are always using our performing arts platform to address issues that are important to young people today.” She strives to bring a message to teenagers by combining elements of theater, music, dance, poetry and visual arts.

In September 2011 Gayle appeared on the first season of Simon Cowell’s show “X Factor” and was included in the top 20. The experience in Los Angeles showed Gayle the competitive side of the music industry and gave her insight into the art of television production.

When Gayle graduates from Jefferson High School in May 2012 she hope to purse a music degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
