Asbury UMC in Charles Town will be hosting a Gospel Concert on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. featuring “The New Cross Roads” Gospel Quartet. Refreshments will be served. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held on Feb. 19. The church will also host “David’s Heart Band,” a new local contemporary christian band on Feb. 25 in Williams Hall at 7 p.m. Join us at 6 p.m. for pizza followed by the show. African-American History service Feb. 12
The House of Prayer Church of God, 501 W. Congress St., Charles Town, will be hosting their Annual African-American History Tribute Service on Sunday, Feb. 12. The service time is 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Dr. Donald F. Taylor. Dr. Taylor currently serves as the associate pastor for administration and organization at Wainbright Baptist church. The Rev. Paul E. Brown is the host pastor.
Recovery program meets every Friday
Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered recovery program for men and women struggling with alcoholism, addictions, and other self-defeating behaviors, meets every Friday. Middleway Methodist to show ‘Courageous’
Middleway United Methodist Church will be showing the film “Courageous” on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 and 9:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 7 and 9:30 p.m. This is a free event for everyone in the community. Oakland Church chocolate-lovers event Feb. 18
On Saturday, Feb. 18 from 3 − 5 p.m., join the WFF (Women of Faith and Friendship) for “Extravagant Love.” This is a women-only event where the decadence of chocolate will be enjoyed.
