PINING FOR THE PERFECT TREE

Derek Wilson and his 2-year-old son Tristan find their Christmas tree at Ridgefield Farms near Harpers Ferry.  Kija Wilson says visiting a Christmas tree farm is a much-loved family tradition. “We have photos of Derek and  me getting a tree when we were first married and then photos of me the year we were expecting Tristan,” said  Kija, a Martinsburg native who brought along her camera for the afternoon outing on Dec. 10. “We have shots  of Tristan in 2009 when he was barely able to sit up and then last year when he didn’t really understand what we  were doing.” This time around, Tristan was excited as the three searched for the perfect tree and the boy, who will  turn 3 on April 15, assisted as his dad cut it and loaded it onto a wagon. The family lives near Shepherdstown.
